Notes on Mercury 3 Remote Preamplifier 

       The Mercury 3 Remote preamp is sonically identical to the non-remote version. 

It incorporates our proprietary 32 step analog relay-controlled stepped attenuator. The remote function does not compromise the sonic quality of the attenuator in any way.  We worked for 18 months to design an attenuator that was automated and analog using discrete resistors. 

    The relays have precious metal contacts and are environmentally sealed. They have an astounding  service life of 400,000,000 operations and are immune to dust. A high quality military spec rotary switch has a service life of perhaps 50,000 operations! 

        Our attenuator has proven to shift quietly and be trouble free. The handset is 

infrared operated and works from almost any conceivable angle.
